These earrings were made by my son Blake as he continues learning to carve under my guidance.
Due to federal law, he can only work with fossilized ivory, so he is starting off with this fossilized walrus ivory. We are focusing on natural cross-sections so he can build a strong foundation while allowing the natural character of the material to remain visible.
This pair features soft creamy tones with warm honey coloring through the exposed core and subtle darker accents along the outer edge. The larger cross-sections highlight the organic structures and age within the fossilized ivory. Lightweight for their size and one of a kind, finished with Argentium silver findings.
